About
A retiring school principal and his wife confront old wounds and doubt whether their long marriage makes them a couple or two individuals.
Ulrich Tukur plays Hans Schenke, a school principal who is close to retirement. Anke Engelke is his wife Rita, who has set the pace at home for 35 years and does not like change. Their son Tom, played by Lukas Rüppel, has long since left home, and the couple's life follows a fixed routine. To Rita, Hans seems more like a guest in her life than a partner. When something unexpected happens, old wounds become visible again. Hans and Rita also realise how little they know about their son's life, and they are no longer sure whether they are a couple or two separate individuals.
