About
A young literary agent asks Patricia Highsmith to write another Tom Ripley book, but their meeting turns into a psychological game.
In 1995, Patricia Highsmith, played by Helen Mirren, lives a withdrawn life in a villa in the Swiss Alps. Her house is filled with books and old weapons, and she keeps cats. Edward Ridgeway (Alden Ehrenreich), a young literary agent, travels from New York to Switzerland. He wants Highsmith to write one more book about Tom Ripley. She refuses at first. She says she will only consider it if he helps her think up the perfect murder. What begins as a business visit turns into a psychological cat-and-mouse game. The cast also includes Olivia Cooke as Clementine Balfour and Juliet Stevenson as Peggy.
