About
In 1980s New York, actor Jimmy George, living with AIDS, prepares a new stage performance with his experimental theatre company.
New York at the end of the 1980s. Jimmy George, played by Rami Malek, is a theatre maker who has AIDS. After a long illness he wants to go back on stage. With his experimental company he starts work on a new production, a live staging of Michel Tremblay's Once Upon a Time in the East. Jimmy shares his flat with his boyfriend Dennis (Tom Sturridge), who looks after him and his medication. Downstairs lives Leslie (Maisy Stella), who introduces him to her new flatmate Vincent (Luther Ford). Rebecca Hall, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Sasha Lane are also in the cast. The film follows the preparations for that performance.
