About
A strained San Francisco couple invites their upstairs neighbours to dinner, where Joe plans a confrontation and Angela hopes to impress.
Seth Rogen plays Joe, Olivia Wilde Angela, Penélope Cruz Piña and Edward Norton Hawk. In San Francisco, Joe, a musician who teaches band at a conservatory, comes home to find that his wife Angela has invited their upstairs neighbours for dinner. Angela stays at home; their relationship is strained and they argue often, lately about the loud sex sounds from above. Joe intends to confront Piña, a divorcée, and Hawk, a widower, while Angela wants to make a good impression and asks him to stay calm. The guests arrive while Joe and Angela are arguing. With no wine and without checking Piña's dietary needs, Angela makes several awkward mistakes, while Joe's open antagonism seems to impress the couple.
