SweetheartSweetheart

A lively, prickly boy spends the summer in Sicily with his traditional aunt, whose fixed routines are unsettled by his arrival.

Sweetheart follows Nico (Marco Fiore), a lively and prickly boy growing up in a secular household where technology is part of everyday life. He is sent to Sicily against his will to spend the summer with his aunt Gela (Aurora Quattrocchi), a traditional, religious woman who has lived for years in a large, old apartment without modern conveniences. Gela values good manners and follows her own habits strictly. Nico's presence upsets her daily schedule, and the contrast between her traditional world and his modern upbringing marks the beginning of their relationship. The film is Margherita Spampinato's feature debut.
