About
After a racist attack, German-Korean prosecutor Seyo Kim takes her own case to court against the perpetrators and a justice system that downplays right-wing extremism.
Faraz Shariat's justice thriller Prosecution follows Seyo Kim (Chen Emilie Yan), a German-Korean state prosecutor who has recently moved to the Brandenburg town of Neuwerda. In a narcotics trial she orders the accused neo-Nazi to cover the right-wing extremist code HKN KRZ on his T-shirt. Her car tyres are then slashed. The next day, while cycling through a park, she is attacked: a cyclist deliberately rides into her, and other attackers throw two Molotov cocktails from a bridge, setting her jacket on fire. She manages to take off the burning jacket. After the attack she takes her own case to court, confronting the perpetrators and a justice system that downplays right-wing extremism. The cast includes Julia Jentsch, Alev Irmak, Arnd Klawitter and Sebastian Urzendowsky.
