About
In an oil-powered city-state, a young woman's place in a male-run succession is unsettled by a singer's arrival.
In a near-future Greece, a small, impoverished city-state survives on oil from a massive refinery. Armed men hold absolute power, and their leader Nikos (Christos Loulis) is gravely ill and must arrange his succession. His decision to include his protégée Maria (Melissanthi Mahut) among the contenders causes consternation. Maria has grown up in this male-dominated world and struggles for recognition and survival. The arrival of Eleni (Aurora Marion), a singer at the town's bar, disrupts Maria's life. Eleni and Maria turn against the patriarchal order and fight for freedom and identity.
