About
A Turkish music teacher in exile in New York works illegally and seeks risky help to reunite with his wife and daughter.
In the American independent drama Gazelle, Nadir Sarıbacak plays Yakup, a Turkish music teacher who moves to New York after political unrest forces him into exile. Living alone and undocumented, he works illegally in a restaurant kitchen with a group of fellow immigrants while trying to bring his wife Ayşe (Emine Bayındır) and daughter Neşe (Sare Aydoğan) to the United States. When the legal options stall, he seeks help from a group of shady fellow countrymen who use risky methods to get people out of Turkey. The film is directed by Nadir Sarıbacak and Samy Pioneer.
