In post-Pinochet Chile, fifteen-year-old Celeste comes of age as her country enters democracy and she returns to a coastal town.
At a beach in northern Chile, fifteen-year-old Celeste (Helen Mrugalski) marks the start of a new year as her country moves from dictatorship to democracy. The future looks promising, but the past lingers among the coastal cliffs and beneath the landscape. Months later, the prospect of a solar eclipse brings Celeste back to the seaside town, where she begins to grasp what drove her parents’ archaeological work.
Set after the fall of Pinochet, the film follows a girl entering an adult world in an uncertain nation, with the desert and ocean she once embraced now feeling alien. The cast includes Daniela Ramírez, Néstor Cantillana, Mariana Loyola, Nicolás Contreras, Clemente Rodríguez and Erto Pantoja.
