About
Writer Annie Ernaux returns to Rouen for a book signing and recalls her summer at a camp in 1958, aged seventeen.
In 2020, writer Annie Ernaux travels to Rouen for a book signing. The return to the city where she grew up brings back the summer of 1958, when she was seventeen.
Annie, from a Catholic family in the French countryside, leaves her familiar surroundings to work as a counsellor at a summer camp, determined to gain new experiences. Among the other counsellors she stands out through her innocence and naivety and soon becomes a target. The older head counsellor picks her as his next conquest. Tess Barthélémy and Valérie Dréville play Annie; Ariane Labed plays her mother.
