What to do in Breda? Agenda today and this weekend

Climb the tower of the Grote Kerk with a guide, walk past the Spanjaardsgat and along the Haven, and visit the Stedelijk Museum Breda for the story of the Nassaus. In the evening there is a concert in Mezz, live music in Café Lievense or a show in the Chassé Theater.

Mezz is the stage for live music and dance, and Café Lievense has live bands. For bars, go to the Havermarkt, the Grote Markt and along the Haven. At Mezz there is no minimum age for most concerts, but under 16 you must be with an adult, and the night programme after midnight is 18 and over. Other places set their own age.

Chassé Cinema in the Chassé Theater shows arthouse films, documentaries and classics. Pathé Breda is at the Chasséveld and Kinepolis Breda is at the Breepark. The film pages list what is on in all three.

The Breda Jazz Festival runs from 6 to 9 May 2027. It opens on Ascension Day at 13:00 on the Grote Markt, and the last notes are played on Sunday evening.

No big central Christmas market is announced yet, but there are a few things to go to. KerstSTEKtakel, the market at STEK, is on Saturday 12 December from 16:00 to 21:00 and Sunday 13 December from 13:00 to 19:15. The free Christmas market at the Asterdhoeve (Rietdijk 6) is on 19 and 20 December. And the IJsplein on the Grote Markt (11 December to 3 January) and the Winter Walhalla at the Breepark (19 December to 3 January) have ice rinks.
