About

A Venezuelan family of four tries to build a new life in the Czech Republic, grandfather Jan’s birthplace, as savings run low.

The Sykora family are four of the millions of Venezuelans who have recently left their country in crisis. They arrive in the Czech Republic, where grandfather Jan was born, a country that is utterly strange to them. In the months that follow, their savings dwindle and the search for work becomes a severe test. The hope of a normal life begins to fade again. The film follows the family between past and future, home and foreignness, and asks what belonging means and whether origins alone are enough to arrive somewhere.
