About
Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor interview Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers about military targeting in Gaza and the civilian deaths attacks can cause.
NAZA is a documentary by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor. Filmed at night on rooftops in Tel Aviv, it brings together interviews with Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers who speak about military targeting in Gaza and the civilian deaths that attacks can cause. The interviewees appear as dark silhouettes and their voices are distorted to conceal their identities.
They describe how targets are chosen and how technology and procedures shape those decisions. The title comes from Nezek Agavi, the Hebrew military term for collateral damage. One interviewee explains that a target is given a NAZA value: the expected number of civilian deaths from an airstrike.
