About
A struggling beeda salesman becomes a movie star and draws the attention of a Pollachi landlord who sees him as the next M. G. R.
Kulkanth Kumar, played by Natarajan Subramaniam, comes to Chennai from North India to earn a living. He unexpectedly lands the lead role in a film, and his flawed Tamil pronunciation gets an overwhelming response from audiences. In Pollachi, the wealthy landlord Sivalinga Mandradiyar, played by Thambi Ramaiah, is struck by Kulkanth's resemblance to his idol M. G. Ramachandran. He invites the actor to his home, where Kulkanth tells him about his early life: born to a Tamil man from Thanjavur who moved to Madhya Pradesh and set up a gulkand shop, he later sold beeda near Anna Nagar Tower Park in Chennai, where he was spotted and cast. After hearing the story, Sivalinga sells groves to help Kulkanth become a successful movie star. The cast also includes M. S. Bhaskar, Ilavarasu, Shrita Rao, Yashika Anand, Chandhini Tamilarasan and Redin Kingsley.
