About

Jim Jarmusch's comedy-drama anthology follows three estranged families in the US, Dublin and Paris as they face unresolved tensions and distant parents.

Jim Jarmusch's comedy-drama is an anthology of three estranged family relationships in three countries. In the first, Jeff (Adam Driver) and Emily (Mayim Bialik) drive along a snowy road in a US countryside town to visit their estranged, reclusive father (Tom Waits). Emily has no idea how he manages financially, while Jeff seems to be supporting him in secret and brings a box of expensive groceries; their father appears to hide his financial state and forgets Jeff's recent divorce. In Dublin, a successful writer (Charlotte Rampling) receives her adult daughters Timothea (Cate Blanchett) and Lilith (Vicky Krieps) for their annual tea. In Paris, twins Skye (Indya Moore) and Billy unravel family ties in their parents' nearly empty apartment. Sarah Greene plays Jeanette.
