About
Mathias and his old friend Philippe cycle from the French Atlantic coast toward the Black Sea, following the route Mathias's late son Youri once took.
Mathias, played by Mathias Mlekuz, sets off by bicycle with his old friend Philippe (Philippe Rebbot) and the small dog Lucky. They ride from the French Atlantic coast in the direction of the Black Sea, following a route Mathias's son Youri took a few years earlier. Youri died a year before the journey, and the trip is a way for Mathias to remember him. The two men are not fit and have no sporting habits: Mathias is overweight, Philippe smokes and drinks regularly. They sometimes take a train, a Flixbus or a horse-drawn cart, sleep partly in a tent and partly in Airbnbs, and occasionally feel physical pain.
