About
A documentary about two Tehran techno DJs who organize an underground rave and produce an album under restrictions.
Raving Iran is a 2016 documentary by Susanne Regina Meures. In Tehran in 2014, the friends Anoosh and Arash work as techno DJs and perform together as Blade & Beard. Dance events with electronic music and the release of records are forbidden.
To organize a rave, they choose a site in the desert around Tehran, since a venue in the city would be too dangerous. They have no permit for the event and have difficulty borrowing suitable equipment. They also produce and distribute their album, and they are refused permission to print posters and CDs.
