About
Beca Mitchell joins Barden University's all-female a cappella group, whose traditional leader resists her ideas, as they compete against an all-male team.
The Barden Bellas, Barden University's all-female a cappella group, compete against the all-male Treblemakers in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. Beca Mitchell (Anna Kendrick) enrolls at Barden at her father's insistence; he is a professor there and wants her to try college before pursuing a music production career. She makes mash-ups and interns at the university radio station, where she befriends Jesse Swanson (Skylar Astin).
Aubrey Posen (Anna Camp) and Chloe Beale (Brittany Snow) recruit new members for the Bellas, and Beca joins the group. The Bellas value traditional arrangements, while Beca's suggestions meet Aubrey's resistance. Jesse joins the Treblemakers.
