About
A Swiss documentary follows 14-year-old Berlin influencer Leonie, known as Leoobalys, as her parents take over management of her growing social media career.
Girl Gang is a Swiss documentary by Susanne Regina Meures. It follows 14-year-old Leonie, known online as Leoobalys, who lives in Berlin and has nearly a million followers. She posts moments from her life on Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube. At the start of filming, her father Andreas works as a bartender. As Leonie's success grows, her career becomes more lucrative, and her parents decide to take over her management, to protect her and because their daughter is living part of their own dream. Her mother fears social decline. To the outside world Leoobalys appears to lead a perfect life, but the pressure to keep producing new content and her own perfectionism weigh on her.
