About

A Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver grows close to his neighbor and her son, then agrees to help her husband.

Driver (Ryan Gosling) is an unnamed Hollywood stunt driver who also works as a getaway driver for criminals. Auto-shop owner Shannon (Bryan Cranston) manages his jobs. In Los Angeles, Driver keeps people at a distance until he grows close to his neighbor Irene (Carey Mulligan) and her young son Benicio (Kaden Leos). Their relationship is interrupted when Irene's husband, Standard (Oscar Isaac), is released from prison. Standard owes money to criminals, and Driver offers to act as the getaway driver for a robbery involving Standard and Cook's accomplice Blanche (Christina Hendricks).
