About
A director shooting a modern adaptation of Carmen falls in love with his lead actress, until the set becomes an arena of jealousy and self-destruction.
Carmen is a ten-minute Ukrainian short film with music, drama, crime and romance, directed by Caroline Singh, who also plays the title role. At the centre is a film director, played by Zakhar Shestiaiev, who is shooting a modern adaptation of Carmen.
He becomes obsessed with his lead actress, and during the shoot the line between cinema and reality slowly blurs. The set turns into an arena of jealousy and self-destruction. Ivan Ustinov plays Escamillo and Ivan Melnikov is the choreographer.
