Plan your visit to Lumen
How many seats does Filmhuis Lumen have?
Lumen's largest hall seats 133 people. The other three halls seat 101, 57 and 51, so the smallest hall is roughly a third of the largest.
- Largest hall
- 133 seats
- Zaal 1
- 101 seats
- Small halls
- 57 and 51 seats
- Wheelchair spaces
- 1–2 per hall
The four halls are the core of the building: two large halls of 133 and 101 seats and two smaller halls of 57 and 51. Zaal 1 is the 101-seat hall with the retractable tribune.
For comparison, Delfia in Delft seats 500 and Pathé Buitenhof in The Hague seats 1,279. Lumen is deliberately small: even its largest hall is about a quarter of Pathé Buitenhof.

Choosing a seat in Lumen's four halls
All four halls are seated, and you pick a seat on the seat map when you book online. Zaal 1 has 101 seats and a tribune that can be rolled away for events.
- Zaal 1
- 101 seats; tribune can be retracted
- Other large hall
- 133 seats
- Smaller halls
- 57 and 51 seats

- On the seat map when booking
- Wheelchair places
- 1–2 per hall
The halls are small: the largest seats 133, the smallest 51. That makes even the back rows part of the room rather than a distant balcony.
Zaal 1 is the hall to remember if you need step-free access: its wheelchair place is booked by phone, while halls 2, 3 and 4 have wheelchair places on the seat map.
If you are booking for a group, the online seat map shows what is still free. Lumen does not take reservations, so a group books seat by seat in one order.
Eating and drinking at Lumen: two bars and a park terrace
Lumen has a bar on the ground floor and a second bar upstairs, with tables inside and a terrace facing the Van Leeuwenhoekpark. There is no table service: order at the bar.
The bars serve coffee and tea, a changing selection of wines and beers chosen by the volunteers, soft drinks and juices. With your coffee there are vegan cakes from More Pastry and fresh taart.
Food and drink bought at Lumen may go into the hall. Outside food and drink are not allowed in the hall or foyer, and alcohol is not served to under-18s; staff may ask for ID.

Parking at Filmhuis Lumen: Zuidpoort and Phoenix
The two main garages are the Zuidpoortgarage on Zuidwal and the Phoenixgarage on Phoenixstraat, both about eight minutes' walk from Lumen. Both charge €0.80 per 14 minutes and are open 24 hours a day.
The closest option is the much smaller Delft Station ParkBee garage at the station: 450 m, about seven minutes' walk and 18 spaces. It is app-only and its page gives no fixed rate, so it is not in the rate table; the app shows the price when you book.

From 1 January 2027 the Delft garages are cashless, so pay by card or app at the barrier. The station area also has a Kiss+Ride 300 m from Lumen for dropping someone off.
