Questions

When is Ramadan 2027 in the Netherlands?

Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February, with the first night prayer (taraweeh) on the evening of Sunday 7 February, and to end on Monday 8 March. Suikerfeest (Eid al-Fitr) follows on Tuesday 9 March and lasts three days, until Thursday 11 March; if Ramadan runs 30 days, everything moves a day later. Mosques set the exact days when the new moon is seen.

Does Ramadan start on a different day for Moroccans?

Often they do: mosques that follow the moon sighting in Morocco sometimes begin Ramadan and celebrate Suikerfeest a day later than Turkish mosques, which follow Diyanet's calculated calendar. The days on this page are the expected ones; each mosque announces its own the evening before.

What time is the iftar during Ramadan 2027?

The iftar, the meal that breaks the fast, starts at sunset. On 8 February 2027 the sun sets at 17:38 in Amsterdam and Utrecht and at 17:41 in The Hague and Rotterdam; by 8 March it sets at about 18:30. Mosques publish their own timetables, so follow your mosque's. The public iftars on this page give their own start time.
