Yennayer, the Amazigh (Berber) new year, falls on 14 January 2027, the start of the year 2977, and is celebrated from the evening of the 13th; Morocco has made 14 January a public holiday and Algeria marks it on 12 January. In the Netherlands its celebrations run through January.
