About
A crew of shoplifters led by aspiring designer Corvette targets fashion designer Christie Smith's Metro Designers chain, stealing and reselling its clothes at a discount.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, Corvette (Keke Palmer), Mariah (Taylour Paige) and Sade (Naomi Ackie) form the Velvet Gang, a crew of shoplifters who steal clothes from the Metro Designers chain and resell them at a discount to make ends meet. The chain is run by designer Christie Smith, whose work Corvette admires while also designing clothes herself. Corvette sneaks into Christie's office inside a coffee cart and overhears Christie talk about $100,000 suits. Christie spots her; Corvette gives a false name but admits her admiration and says she designs clothes herself. Corvette also keeps encountering a mysterious man with a pinky ring (LaKeith Stanfield).
