About
Left behind when his family leaves for Christmas in Paris, eight-year-old Kevin defends his suburban Chicago home from two robbers.
Eight-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) is the youngest son in the McCallister family, who are preparing to spend Christmas in Paris and gather at the home of his parents Peter (John Heard) and Kate (Catherine O'Hara) in a Chicago suburb. Kevin's older siblings ridicule him for his immaturity, and after a scuffle with his oldest brother Buzz (Devin Ratray) he is sent to the attic.
The next morning, in the chaotic rush to the airport, Kevin is accidentally left behind. He wakes to an empty house and, thinking his wish that his family would disappear has come true, initially enjoys his freedom. Then two robbers, Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern), try to break into the home, and Kevin defends it.
