In Dresden the Sächsische Staatskapelle plays in the Semperoper, the Dresdner Philharmonie in the Kulturpalast, and the Dresdner Kreuzchor sings in the Kreuzkirche. The Frauenkirche, reconsecrated in 2005, is a concert venue in its own right. In May and June the Dresdner Musikfestspiele fill the city with concerts.

Home of Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden
The Semperoper, reopened in its present form in 1985, is the home of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden. Wagner's Rienzi, The Flying Dutchman and Tannhäuser were premiered in Dresden, in Gottfried Semper's first opera house.
Home of Dresdner Philharmonie
The former multi-purpose hall on the Altmarkt reopened in 2017 as a concert hall. The Dresdner Philharmonie plays here, and big concerts of the Dresdner Musikfestspiele are held here.
The Frauenkirche, reconsecrated in 2005 after its reconstruction, is church and concert hall in one: organ music, choral and orchestral concerts under the dome.
