Sebastião Salgado: Amazônia

What to expect

“Amazônia” is a concert experience that pairs large-screen photographs by Sebastião Salgado with music from the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker.

Salgado, an internationally celebrated photographer who died in 2025, chose the images to enter into dialogue with the music.

The Italian-Brazilian conductor Simone Menezes leads, and Camila Titinger is the soprano; the evening centres on Heitor Villa-Lobos’s “Floresta do Amazonas” and includes an excerpt from Philip Glass’s “Aguas da Amazonia”.
