- 150
- Seated
- 70-80 (page gives both)
- Concert room
- Zaal
The Zaal, Cinetol's concert hall, holds 150 people standing; the rental page gives 70 to 80 seated. That is the room used for concerts; the rest of the building is a breeding ground with smaller work and meeting rooms. Cinetol does not publish a whole-building capacity, so 150 is the number to use for a show.
By Amsterdam standards it is an intimate stage. Paradiso's main hall holds 1,500 people and the Royal Theater Carré 1,752, roughly ten times Cinetol's standing capacity. Apollohal, a mid-sized event hall near the RAI, holds 960. A sold-out Cinetol show therefore stays a small-room concert, with the stage close to the audience.

Tickets, bags and the cloakroom
Tickets come from the ticket link on each event page. The €1.75 service fee is already included in the price shown, so there is no surprise at checkout. Tickets are also sold at the door unless the show sold out in presale, and the door takes card only. Cinetol does not refund tickets unless a concert is moved or cancelled; if you cannot go, resell through TicketSwap.
There are no lockers. Coat racks are unguarded and used at your own risk, so keep valuables with you. When your ticket is scanned you get a stamp that lets you leave the Zaal for the toilet or fresh air and come back in.

Cinetol's history: an eighties building, a name from next door
The building at Tolstraat 182 dates from the eighties. Cinetol opened here in May 2014 as a pop venue, creative breeding ground and café; the Tolbar followed in 2015. The name does not come from this building: it is borrowed from the neighbouring former theosophical temple and cinema next door.
Cinetol programmes new and alternative bands and emerging artists, local and international, with room for experiment, niche music and Amsterdam's communities. It runs about 250 concerts a year. The rest of the building is rented to cultural entrepreneurs, artists and musicians, which is what makes Cinetol a breeding ground rather than only a stage.
