About
Alessandra Sanguinetti follows two inseparable cousins over 25 years on neighbouring farms in the Argentine Pampas.
The Illusion of an Everlasting Summer is a 2026 documentary directed by Alessandra Sanguinetti, a filmmaker and photographer associated with Magnum. It follows two cousins, Belinda Stutz and Guillermina Aranciaga, who appear as themselves, over 25 years in the Argentine Pampas. The two cousins are always together, and their farms stand side by side in the wide plains. Sanguinetti, their neighbour, records their games and dreams from childhood as they grow into young adults. The film also shows photographs Sanguinetti took during the same period. Juana Falconet is also credited as herself.
