About
A documentary portrait follows three generations of an Afro-Palestinian Bedouin family in Jordan as displacement and villas advance around their camp near Amman.
Concrete Land is an intimate documentary portrait of three generations of the Najar family, one of the last Afro-Palestinian Bedouin families still living in tents in Jordan. The family lives in a camp near Amman, where luxury villas are advancing around them. Palestinian filmmaker Asmahan Bkerat followed the family for eight years. The camera becomes part of the daily life of the family. The Najar family faces displacement, racism and internal conflict, and their love, humour and resilience are tested.
