About
An oil executive leads an expedition to a cloud-hidden South Pacific island, where a stowaway paleontologist and a rescued actress encounter a giant ape.
Fred Wilson, an executive of the Petrox Oil Company, leads an expedition to a remote island in the South Pacific that is permanently hidden by clouds. He believes the island holds a huge oil deposit. The primate paleontologist Jack Prescott stows away on the ship and warns the crew about legends of a giant creature; Wilson takes him for a spy and has him locked up. After a storm the expedition picks up Dwan, an aspiring actress whose yacht exploded. Jack and Dwan are drawn to each other. On the island, the inhabitants are worshipping a giant ape called Kong, and when they see Dwan they want to offer her to him.
