Every seat in the 342-seat main hall has a clear view of the stage, so the best seat is the one closest to the stage that is still free. The floor holds 232 seats and the balcony 110.
The floor starts to rise from row 5, which improves the sightlines. The sound and lighting desk sits in the middle of rows 7 and 8, and the balcony overhangs rows 8 to 11. Pillars stand beside the corner seats of row 9, but they do not block the view from the corner seats of rows 10 and 11.
The balcony is reached by stairs only, because there is no lift. Four wheelchair places are reserved in the hall and cannot be booked online: reserve them by phone or at the box office, without booking fees. In the small hall, and at unplaced performances where you buy a ticket without a seat number, you cannot choose a seat.
Eating, drinking and paying at Theater de Speeldoos
The theatre café serves coffee, tea, drinks and snacks, working as much as possible with local makers, before the show and during the interval. A borrelplank with cheeses, sausage, nuts and olives costs €19.50 for two people and can be reserved for selected performances; you collect it at the theatre bar after the show. In the 2026-2027 season a themed buffet costs €28.50 per person, excluding drinks, for selected shows.
An interval drink is included in the ticket price for most theatre performances; if there is no interval, the drinks are put out after the show. Local amateur productions and the Op weg naar Carré series do not include a drink.
You can pay only by debit card or mobile phone, at the box office and at the bar; cash is no longer accepted. Three Baarn restaurants, Het Dorsthuys, Eemlust and Tutto Pepe, serve a theatre menu before the show.

Children need their own seat, even when they sit on your lap, for fire regulations; seat boosters are available at the entrance of the hall. Babies are not admitted to children's performances, where an age guidance applies.
