What to know before you visit Theater De Omval
There is an unattended cloakroom by the box office, and latecomers may not be admitted after the start.
Arrive 15 minutes before the start if you still need to collect tickets; the box office opens 1 hour before each film or performance. Reserved tickets must be collected at least 15 minutes before the start, or they are released.
Latecomers report to the staff in the foyer; admittance after the start depends on the artist or company, but assume no entry once the performance has begun.
Most films and performances have no interval; a film longer than 2 hours gets one, and the website says when a performance has a break. Switch off your phone. Photos and recordings during the performance are not allowed, but a photo on arrival or during the applause is fine.
The cloakroom is unattended and sits in the corridor in front of the box office.

How to get to Theater De Omval: train, bus and tram
The theatre is 5 minutes' walk from Diemen station, and bus 44 stops around the corner at Winkelcentrum.
From Diemen station, walk up the Ouddiemerlaan in the southern direction; the theatre is at number 104, after about 350 metres on your left. Trains stop at Diemen.
Bus 44 runs from Bijlmer ArenA to Diemen Noord and stops at Winkelcentrum, about 2 minutes from the door. Tram 19 (formerly 9) from Sloterdijk, Leidseplein and Vijzelgracht stops at Diemerbrug; from there, walk up the Ouddiemerlaan past La Sol Diemen and De Schakel, keep straight at the T-junction, and the theatre is on your right after the town hall.
Late shows: the theatre publishes no last-transport times. Diemen station is still the 5-minute walk home; trains run toward Amsterdam Centraal and Weesp, so check the last train to your destination in the NS app or at ns.nl/reisplanner. GVB night bus N87 also calls at Diemen station on its overnight route between Amsterdam Centraal and Station Bijlmer ArenA; check gvb.nl for the next departure. If neither fits, book a taxi in advance as the practical fallback.

About Theater De Omval: a cultural house since 1996
Theater De Omval has stood on the Ouddiemerlaan in Diemen since 1996, in a striking building by architect Sjoerd Soeters. It is more than a theatre: theatre, cinema, workspace, room hire, café, library and music school share one roof. The building has 11 rooms, from small meeting rooms to the Grote Zaal.
The programme mixes cabaret, theatre, film, music and family shows. The venue calls itself a meeting place where everyone can enjoy culture in their own way.
