How many people fit in the HOFtheater?
- Seated capacity
- 310
- Mixed capacity
- 400
- Middle block
- 76 removable seats
Up to 310 people sit in the HOFtheater's round theatre hall. For a standing concert the 76 seats in the middle block come out; the hall then holds 400 people in a mixed seated/standing configuration, while the seats in the rings stay in place.
The HOFtheater is an intimate regional theatre rather than a city schouwburg: Deventer Schouwburg's main hall seats 750 and Schouwburg Hengelo's Rabozaal 880, roughly two to three times the Raalte hall. The round auditorium is the venue's signature; the 2013 renovation renewed the foyers and meeting rooms around it.

To the upper ring
The hall is a single round auditorium with a ground floor and an upper ring. Every seat has armrests. The 76 seats in the middle of the floor can be removed for a standing concert, while the ring seats stay in place.
For the closest view, take a ground-floor seat facing the stage; the upper ring gives a higher overview of the round room. If you use a rollator or a stick, or find stairs difficult, book a ground-floor seat or the back row of the upper ring, which you reach by lift. Wheelchair places are not sold online: call 0572 361 361 on weekdays between 10:00 and 13:00, or email [email protected].
- Closest to the stage: centre ground-floor seats.
- Best overview: the upper ring, reached by lift.
- Less mobile: a ground-floor seat or the back row of the upper ring.
- Stand concerts: the middle floor seats come out and the ring seats remain.
- Wheelchair places: book by phone or email; a companion seat is normally reserved next to you at the normal first-tier rate.
Can I eat and drink at the HOFtheater?
Every ticket includes one drink unless the event page says otherwise. You can add a food arrangement to your ticket order, or email [email protected] at least 48 hours ahead; the arrangements are made for two.
Coffee or tea with sweet treats costs €16.50; bitterballen (8) with mustard or cheese soufflés (6) with sauce cost €5.50; a cheese and sausage board or a vegetarian board costs €13.50; the same board with bitterballen or soufflés costs €17.50.

Is the HOFtheater accessible?
The HOFtheater has a step-free entrance, a lift, an adapted toilet and seats with armrests; assistance dogs are welcome throughout the public areas and in the hall.
Wheelchair places are available but cannot be booked online. Call 0572 361 361 on weekdays between 10:00 and 13:00, or email [email protected]. A companion seat is normally reserved next to the wheelchair place at the normal first-tier rate; book early, because wheelchair places can be sold as ordinary seats when the hall fills.
If you use a rollator or a stick, or find stairs difficult, book a ground-floor seat or the back row of the upper ring, reached by lift. Your rollator or stick is stored safely outside the hall during the show and brought back afterwards. For hearing-aid users the hall has Auracast support: aids with a receiver switch automatically, aids with a telecoil can use that setting, and otherwise a receiver with headphones can be collected at the box office and returned to the bar. About the HOFtheater
The HOFtheater is a mid-sized theatre in Raalte, Overijssel. A small professional team programmes about 80 professional performances a season; otherwise the theatre runs on volunteers.
The building was renovated in 2013 with a new foyer and meeting rooms, while its distinctive round auditorium and 300 seats were kept. The hall now seats 310, or 400 in a mixed seated/standing layout when the middle rows come out for a standing concert.
Besides the theatre hall, the foyer and meeting rooms can be hired for parties, conferences and meetings. The theatre is at Voorhof 2, with free parking beside it and Raalte station 2,250 m away.
