76 removable seats

Up to 310 people sit in the HOFtheater's round theatre hall. For a standing concert the 76 seats in the middle block come out; the hall then holds 400 people in a mixed seated/standing configuration, while the seats in the rings stay in place.

The HOFtheater is an intimate regional theatre rather than a city schouwburg: Deventer Schouwburg's main hall seats 750 and Schouwburg Hengelo's Rabozaal 880, roughly two to three times the Raalte hall. The round auditorium is the venue's signature; the 2013 renovation renewed the foyers and meeting rooms around it.

Where should I sit in the round hall?

  2. Middle floor

76 seats removable for standing concerts

  3. Wheelchair places

    Phone or email only

  4. Lift

    To the upper ring

The hall is a single round auditorium with a ground floor and an upper ring. Every seat has armrests. The 76 seats in the middle of the floor can be removed for a standing concert, while the ring seats stay in place.

For the closest view, take a ground-floor seat facing the stage; the upper ring gives a higher overview of the round room. If you use a rollator or a stick, or find stairs difficult, book a ground-floor seat or the back row of the upper ring, which you reach by lift. Wheelchair places are not sold online: call 0572 361 361 on weekdays between 10:00 and 13:00, or email [email protected].

  • Closest to the stage: centre ground-floor seats.
  • Best overview: the upper ring, reached by lift.
  • Less mobile: a ground-floor seat or the back row of the upper ring.
  • Stand concerts: the middle floor seats come out and the ring seats remain.
  • Wheelchair places: book by phone or email; a companion seat is normally reserved next to you at the normal first-tier rate.
Questions

Frequently asked questions

How many people fit in the HOFtheater?

310 people seated in the round hall, or 400 in a mixed seated/standing configuration when the 76 middle seats are removed for a concert.

What time do shows start and end?

Most evening shows start at 20:15 and end between 21:35 and 22:45, depending on the production. The box office opens an hour before the start; check your event page for the exact end time.

Where can I park at the HOFtheater?

Free parking is available in P1, P2 and P3 on both sides of the road to the right of the theatre, about a minute from the entrance. Two disabled spaces are beside the main entrance.

Is parking really free?

Yes. P1, P2 and P3 are free, and the venue asks visitors not to park on the verges. There is also an EV charging point next to the theatre tower.

How do I get there by public transport?

Raalte station is 2,250 m away, about 31 minutes on foot. Bus 166 runs from the station to the Carpoolplaats stop, 860 m or 12 minutes' walk from the theatre.

Is the HOFtheater wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The entrance is step-free, there is a lift and an adapted toilet, and the hall has wheelchair places. Book them by phone on 0572 361 361 (weekdays 10:00–13:00) or by email, because they are not sold online.

Can I book a wheelchair place online?

No. Wheelchair places are booked by phone or email. They can be sold as ordinary seats when the hall fills, so book early; a companion seat is normally reserved next to you at the normal first-tier rate.

Is there a hearing loop?

The hall has Auracast hearing support. Compatible hearing aids switch automatically; otherwise collect a receiver with headphones at the box office and return it to the bar after the show.

Can I eat and drink at the HOFtheater?

Yes. Your ticket includes one drink unless the event page says otherwise. You can order bitterballen or cheese soufflés for two at €5.50, snack boards for two from €13.50, or coffee and tea with treats for €16.50, at least 48 hours ahead.

How do I buy tickets?

Online 24 hours a day, by phone on 0572 361 361, or at the box office by appointment Monday to Friday 10:00–13:00. Printing your own e-ticket avoids booking fees.

Can I cancel my tickets?

Yes, as soon as you know you cannot come. Up to three working days before the show you get a digital credit on your account minus €5 handling. Uncollected reservations are charged.

What if a show is sold out?

Join the waiting list on the event page. That is the venue's route when a show is sold out.

Do children go free?

On selected family shows in 2026–2027, children up to 14 go free with at least one adult ticket and a maximum of four child tickets per order. The offer is only valid where the show page says so.

Can I bring my assistance dog?

Yes. Assistance dogs are welcome in all public areas and in the hall. Call 0572 361 361 ahead to discuss the best place.

How much does a ticket cost?

The 2026–2027 shows we checked cost €18 to €27.50; that is a sample, not a season-wide range. Every ticket includes one drink unless stated otherwise.

Is there a lift?

Yes, a spacious lift takes visitors to the upper floor and the upper ring. The back row of the upper ring is the alternative to ground-floor seats for visitors who find stairs difficult.

Can I hire the hall?

The theatre hall, foyer and meeting rooms are available for hire. Email [email protected] or call 0572 361 361 for availability and prices.
