Plan your visit to Fulcotheater
Capacity: 356 in the main hall, 104 in the small hall
Fulcotheater publishes room capacities rather than one figure for the whole building, so compare the halls you will actually use.
The Rabobankzaal is the main theatre hall: 356 fixed seats in 17 rows. The Rabobankzaal page counts those fixed seats; the room-hire page lists 350 as the theatre capacity when the room is hired. Use 356 for a seated performance and the hire page's figure when you are hiring the room.
The other rooms are hired separately: the Overtoomzaal takes 180 theatre-style or 120 for a reception, and the Theatercafé takes 90 for dinner or 300 for a reception. These are room capacities, not a building total.
| Room or venue | Use | Capacity | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fulcotheater: Rabobankzaal | Theatre, film and presentations | 356 seats in 17 rows | Fulcotheater, Rabobankzaal page |
| Fulcotheater: small hall | Theatre and film | 104 seats | Fulcotheater, room-hire page |
| Fulcotheater: Overtoomzaal | Concerts, theatre and dinners | 180 theatre; 120 reception | Fulcotheater, room-hire page |
| Fulcotheater: Theatercafé | Dinners and receptions | 90 dinner; 300 reception | Fulcotheater, room-hire page |
Seating at Fulcotheater: 17 rows in the main hall
The main hall is a traditional raked theatre, the small hall is more intimate, and both have wheelchair places.
The Rabobankzaal has 17 rows and 356 seats. The stage is 16 by 10 metres, and the room is used for more than 150 performances a season, so most touring theatre and film screenings land here.
The small hall seats 104 and is the more intimate room, used for film and smaller theatre. Both halls have a number of wheelchair places; reserve one in advance on 030 688 42 30.
When you book, you choose a seat on the room plan. For a centred view of the stage, the middle rows are the safest choice; the first row puts you closest to the action but can feel tight for a full-stage show.
If you need extra legroom or use the hearing loop, say so when booking and staff will try to find the most suitable seats. The lift from the car park opens directly into the café or one of the halls.
Eating at Fulcotheater: the Theatre Café
The café is the foyer: it serves before the show, in the interval and after the performance, and the theatre plate is €17.50.
The theatre plate is available on request and comes from a monthly changing menu with a fish, meat or vegetarian choice; it includes coffee or tea afterwards. Book it by phone at least one day before the performance. The kitchen is closed on Sundays and Mondays, except for larger groups.
The café opens Monday to Friday from 13:00; at weekends it opens 30 minutes before the first show. It also hosts pub quizzes and other events, so check the agenda if you want a quiet table.
For a group, the café can be hired for a dinner of up to 90 or a reception of up to 300. The room-hire page lists the other rooms and the morning, afternoon and evening hire periods.

Tickets for Fulcotheater: online, at the box office and on discount
Book online to avoid the box-office handling fee; the box office is open on performance evenings and 30 minutes before every show.
Online you pay with iDEAL, a Nationale Bioscoopbon for films or a Podium Cadeau Kaart for theatre. The Nationale Theaterbon and PLUS Theatercheque can only be used at the box office, and change is not given on theatre vouchers.
Seniors 65+ and CJP holders get €1 off per ticket, U-pas holders get 20% off, and children up to 11 have a child price. Discounted tickets are personal and discounts cannot be combined. Every visitor, including a baby on a lap, needs their own ticket.
Theatre tickets can be exchanged or returned at the box office for €4 per ticket, up to 48 hours before the performance. Do not buy from Top Ticket Shop or similar resale sites: the venue warns that tickets can cost €15 more and may not be valid.

Fulcotheater house rules: coats, phones and late arrival
The rules are the usual theatre ones, with a few local details worth knowing before you go in.
- Coats go in the free cloakroom; fire rules do not allow them in the hall.
- Switch off phones, pagers and watch alarms before the performance.
- Do not film or record without explicit permission from the management; equipment may be held at your own risk.
- Latecomers are let in only at a suitable moment, often after the interval; without an interval you may miss the show.
- Every visitor needs a valid ticket, including a baby on a lap.
Accessibility at Fulcotheater: step-free access and hearing support
The main and small halls have wheelchair places, and the lift from the car park goes directly to the café and the halls.
Reserve a wheelchair place in advance on 030 688 42 30. If you arrive by car, staff can send the lift down to the garage; the same lift serves the café or one of the halls.
A hearing loop is installed in the hall. It can be switched off when it interferes with electric instruments, so mention at booking that you want to use it and staff will try to find the best seats.
P1 Overtoom has 2 disabled parking spaces and P1 Eiteren has 5. Check the clearance if you drive a high vehicle: 1.80 m at Overtoom and 2 m at Eiteren.

About Fulcotheater
A producing and receiving house for theatre, film and private events, a short walk from the Binnenstad stop.
Fulcotheater sits on the Overtoom in the centre of IJsselstein, a short walk from the Binnenstad stop and the Stadhuis. The building combines a theatre programme with a film house and a theatre café, so the same address works for a touring show, an arthouse film or dinner before the performance.
The main Rabobankzaal has 356 seats in 17 rows and a stage of 16 by 10 metres; the small hall seats 104. The café opens on weekday afternoons and around weekend shows, and the box office is open on the evening of performances. The venue is also available for private hire, from small meetings to full-stage events.
