What to do in Nijmegen? Agenda today and this weekend

Walk from the Grote Markt to the Waalkade and up through the Valkhof park to the Sint-Nicolaaskapel, for the view of the Waal and the Waalbrug. Climb the Stevenstoren (check the church's opening hours first), have lunch at the Waag, and spend the evening at LUX, in Doornroosje or at a concert in the Vereeniging.

Most nights out are in and around the Molenstraat, with cafés on the Koningsplein for dancing late. Doornroosje and Merleyn have club nights, and Doornroosje has a regular 40UP night. The city's visitor site names Bar Glitch as the place for over-25s. Every night has its own page with what is on.

The Vierdaagsefeesten run from 17 to 23 July 2027, with the Four Days Marches walking from Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 July. The city's visitor site calls the festivities the biggest freely accessible event in the Netherlands.

Christmas markets are held in several places in the centre every year. The Nijmeegse Winterweken run from 12 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, with a route past light sculptures, street theatre and, from 10 to 27 December, the Winterburg festival in the Kronenburgerpark.
