About
Kawa Nemir, a Kurdish language expert, works on translating James Joyce's Ulysses into Kurdish after moving from Turkey to Amsterdam.
Kawa Nemir records new words and idioms in Kurdish, his mother tongue, and sees language as his home while moving from one exile to another. Translating James Joyce's Ulysses into Kurdish is his passion. He leaves political turmoil and loved ones behind in Turkey and moves to the Netherlands. In Amsterdam he takes refuge at Anne Frank's former house, where she began writing her diary and which now serves as a residence for exiled writers. The documentary follows Nemir as he works on the translation. Armağan Ekici appears as himself.
