About
A Palestinian activist in Masafer Yatta documents the displacement of his community and forms an unexpected friendship with an Israeli journalist.
No Other Land is a documentary made by a Palestinian-Israeli collective: Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor. Filmed between 2019 and 2023, it follows Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist in Masafer Yatta in the occupied West Bank, who has resisted the forced displacement of his community since childhood. He records how Israeli soldiers demolish homes and evict residents after an Israeli "firing zone" is declared on the land.
When Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham comes to the area to report on the situation, the two meet and form an unexpected friendship. Abraham helps Adra in his struggle, but their bond is tested by the huge difference in their living conditions: Adra faces oppression and violence under military occupation, while Abraham lives in freedom and security. Both appear as themselves.
