About
American researchers in Antarctica encounter a shape-shifting alien that can imitate any organism, leaving them unable to trust one another.
The Thing is set at an American research station in Antarctica, where a group of American researchers encounters an extraterrestrial life-form. The creature can assimilate and then imitate other organisms, so any of them could be the Thing. As the men learn what they are dealing with, suspicion and conflict spread through the group, and they can no longer trust one another. Kurt Russell plays the team's helicopter pilot, R. J. MacReady. Wilford Brimley is the biologist Blair, Keith David is Childs, T.K. Carter is Nauls, Richard Dysart is Dr. Copper, David Clennon is Palmer, Charles Hallahan is Norris and Peter Maloney is Bennings. John Carpenter directed the film.
