About
A bankrupt merchant's youngest daughter, Julie, goes to an enchanted castle in the woods in her father's place and meets a bird-like monster.
Beauty and the Beast (Panna a netvor) follows a widowed merchant (Václav Voska) who lives with his three daughters, among them Julie (Zdena Studenková), Gábinka (Jana Brejchová) and Málinka (Zuzana Kocúriková). The two eldest are materialistic and want gold or pearls when their father sets out to sell belongings; Julie is not interested in money and asks only that he return safely with a rose. When the merchant faces ruin, Julie offers to go to an enchanted castle in the woods in his place to save him. There she meets Netvor (Vlastimil Harapes), a bird-like monster.
