About
A pickpocket is hired by a con man posing as a count to become handmaiden to a wealthy heiress and help him seize her fortune.
In Korea during the 1930s, under Japanese rule, Sook-hee (Kim Tae-ri) takes a position as handmaiden to Lady Hideko (Kim Min-hee), a Japanese heiress who stays mostly inside the grounds of a country estate. Hideko shares the estate with her uncle Kouzuki (Cho Jin-woong), a controlling presence in the household. Sook-hee is not there by chance: she is a pickpocket recruited by a swindler calling himself Count Fujiwara (Ha Jung-woo). He intends to court Hideko and use the arrangement to get hold of her inheritance, and Sook-hee is meant to help him from inside the house.
