In 19th-century London, miser Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future in a Muppet retelling of Dickens.
The Muppet Christmas Carol is Brian Henson's 1992 musical adaptation of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol. Gonzo plays Charles Dickens and, with Rizzo the Rat, narrates the story. In 19th-century London, Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine) is a greedy, lonely moneylender who keeps his distance from Christmas celebrations. On Christmas Eve he turns down his nephew Fred's invitation to dinner, sends away two charity collectors, Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker, and throws a wreath at Bean Bunny, a carol singer. His employee Bob Cratchit (Kermit the Frog) and the other bookkeepers ask for Christmas Day off; Scrooge agrees reluctantly. That night the ghosts of his business partners Jacob and Robert Marley appear in chains. Scrooge is then visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.
