About
A French soldier on leave follows his kidnapped fiancée to Brazil after an Amazonian statuette is stolen and a museum curator is kidnapped in Paris.
Jean-Paul Belmondo plays Adrien Dufourquet, a French soldier who takes eight days' leave to visit his fiancée, Agnès Villermosa (Françoise Dorléac), in Paris. There an Amazonian statuette is stolen from the Musée de l'Homme and the museum's curator, Professor Norbert Catalan (Jean Servais), is kidnapped. Catalan once accompanied Agnès's father on an expedition into the Amazon rainforest. Adrien sees Agnès being abducted and follows her trail to Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, where the stolen statuette is linked to a hidden Amazon treasure.
