About
A filmmaker's grandmother sees her lifelong church in Kortgene close, until Amsterdam entrepreneur Ruben van Zwieten buys it and tries to renew the community.
Church of Glass is a documentary by Matthijs Vuijk. His grandmother Coby Boot Leendertse has attended the community church in the small Zeelandic village of Kortgene all her life, but the church is forced to close. Amsterdam entrepreneur and preacher Ruben van Zwieten buys the building. He wants to make the faith community ready for the 21st century by attracting young people, while keeping the bills paid. The film follows the confrontation between the small, ageing faith community of Kortgene and Van Zwieten's plans for its renewal.
