About
Pianist Daniil Trifonov joins the Berliner Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko for Brahms's Second Piano Concerto and dance works by Richard Strauss.
The 2024 New Year's Eve Concert of the Berliner Philharmoniker features pianist Daniil Trifonov, with Kirill Petrenko conducting the orchestra. Trifonov performs Johannes Brahms's Second Piano Concerto. The programme also includes dance works by Richard Strauss: waltzes from Der Rosenkavalier and Salome's Dance. The Strauss pieces are described as richly instrumented dance works. The waltzes come from Der Rosenkavalier. Martha Argerich expressed admiration for Trifonov's playing. The concert pairs a piano concerto with orchestral dance music. Daniil Trifonov is the soloist.
