About this workshop
This afternoon workshop is guided by artist Mark IJzerman and uses the Echoes platform to place sound in physical space.
Participants walk and look closely at the surroundings, then pin sounds to specific spots so they trigger as you approach.
You can use free sounds found online, your own recordings or music, or material recorded on the spot.
The starting point is Ursula K. Le Guin’s essay The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction.
No prior experience with sound is needed, only curiosity and a willingness to walk, create, and listen.
The workshop takes place at Baltan Laboratories, Kastanjelaan 500, 5616 LZ, Eindhoven, on Saturday 28 November 2026 from 14:00 to 17:00.
It is organized by Baltan Laboratories.
