About this workshop

Cyanotype is a 19th-century printing method, discovered by the English scientist John Herschel.

You apply a light-sensitive mixture to paper and lay leaves, flowers or other flat things on top.

Exposure to UV light turns the paper cyan blue, while the spots where the leaves lay stay white.

In the DrukLAB you try this technique yourself under guidance.

The workshop is on Wednesday 11 November 2026 from 13:00 to 16:00 at Noord-Hollands Archief, Jansstraat 40 in Haarlem.
