Capacity

How many people fit in the Veur Theater?

The Veur Theater seats 101 people in its main hall. No standing capacity is published, and there is no second auditorium of comparable size: Zaal Backstage is a meeting and events room of more than 105 m² without a published seat count.

The 101 seats are unnumbered, and you choose your own. The theatre does not publish a separate seat count for Zaal Backstage, which is used for meetings, receptions and events rather than as a second theatre hall.

For scale, the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague seats 680 and the Circustheater in Scheveningen 1852. A full Veur Theater is therefore an intimate audience, not a large hall.

Book by email at [email protected]

Because seating is free, arriving earlier gives you more choice. You pick a place on arrival rather than at booking, so there is no seat map to choose from when you buy a ticket.

For a wheelchair place, book a ticket as usual and email [email protected] to say that you need a wheelchair place or a place for someone who is less mobile. For a place for a hard-of-hearing or visually impaired visitor, or for other access needs, call or WhatsApp 070 30 000 13.

There are no numbered rows or seat levels to book. For the closest view, choose a seat near the front; for an easy exit during the interval, choose an aisle seat. Arriving early gives you the widest choice.

  • Arrive early for the widest choice of seats; the main hall has no seat reservation.
  • Book a normal ticket, then email [email protected] for a wheelchair place or a place for a less mobile visitor.
  • For a hard-of-hearing or visually impaired place, call or WhatsApp 070 30 000 13.
  • For the closest view, sit near the front; for an easy exit, choose an aisle seat.
Questions

Frequently asked questions about the Veur Theater

The questions visitors ask most about the Veur Theater, from show times and parking to tickets, accessibility and food.

How many seats does the Veur Theater have?

The main theatre hall seats 101 people. Seating is free choice, with no seat numbers, so you pick a place when you go in. Zaal Backstage is a separate room of more than 105 m² and has no published seat count.

What time do shows at the Veur Theater start and end?

Most evening performances start at 20:30 and end around 10 pm. Film evenings usually start at 20:00, and matinees at 14:30. The start time on your ticket is the time the performance begins.

How do I get to the Veur Theater by public transport?

Take bus 45 or 46 to the Damlaan stop, a one-minute walk from the theatre. Tram 19 stops at Oosteinde, ten minutes away. From Leidschendam-Voorburg station it is a 16-minute walk or a 5-minute bus ride.

Where can I park near the Veur Theater?

The car park behind the theatre is closed. Free options are Oude Trambaan (3 min), Hoogheemraadplein (4 min) and the town hall on Koningin Wilhelminalaan (7 min). P5 Oost and P5 West at Westfield Mall are also free, 16 and 18 minutes away. Street parking needs a blue disc for 1-2 hours, Monday to Saturday 08:00-18:00.

Do I need to print my tickets?

No. Tickets are digital in the Ticketmatic app; you do not need to print anything. If you have no smartphone, collect them at the bar from an hour before the performance with your own ID.

Is there a cloakroom at the Veur Theater?

Yes, there is a free cloakroom in the theatre. Hang your coat there before you go into the hall; the theatre does not charge for it.

Is the Veur Theater wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The theatre is accessible for wheelchair users and less mobile visitors and has an accessible toilet. Book a ticket as usual, then email [email protected] to reserve a wheelchair place.

Can I bring a baby or young child?

Babies are not admitted. Children's and youth performances carry an age recommendation, and children younger than that age cannot be admitted. The theatre advises that children under 16 come with an adult.

Can I cancel or change my tickets?

You can cancel up to 48 hours before the performance for €2 per ticket; the rest comes back as a voucher. Within 48 hours cancellation is only possible if the theatre resells the tickets, for €5 per ticket. Pub quiz and murder mystery tickets have separate terms. To exchange tickets, reply to the confirmation email or contact the theatre with your order number.

Can I eat at the Veur Theater before a show?

Yes. The theatre dinner is served in the upper foyer before most evening shows and gives you earlier access to the hall. Book your starter and main course in advance. Before film evenings there is a special theatre buffet, and the downstairs theatre café is an alternative.

What happens if I arrive late?

If you arrive after the performance has started, you cannot enter until the interval. If there is no interval, you cannot take your seat that evening. Late arrival does not entitle you to a refund.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

You can buy tickets online, or at the bar on the day of the performance. The theatre does not take reservations by email or phone. If a show is sold out, ask about the waiting list; returns are sometimes released.

Can I forward my tickets to someone else?

Yes, you can forward tickets in the Ticketmatic app, unless they are extra-secure tickets. Extra-secure tickets change their QR code every 30 seconds and cannot be forwarded.
